Wye Oak to Release Kinks, Danzig Covers

Lissie’s viral live covers have at last yielded an official release, and now Wye Oak will put their formerly online-only versions of “Strangers” and “Mother” to wax this fall: Merge Records announced this week that Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack’s live takes on the aforementioned classic Kinks and Danzig tunes for AV Undercover will arrive on 7” vinyl next month. Pre-orders for the limited run — due out on November 22nd — are available here, but in the meantime, video of their excellent Jonathan Meiburg-assisted “Strangers” cut is above.

This is pretty exciting, those were two pretty awesome covers.
